Testimonials

The Testimonials section lets you feature quotes from customers. You can personalize each testimonial quote with an optional profile picture.

Set up a testimonials section on the home page

To set up the testimonials section:

From your theme’s “Customize” screen, choose Home page from the pages drop-down menu at the top of the screen.
Scroll down the list of home page settings until you see the Add section button.
Choose Testimonials from the list of sections, and press the Add button.

This opens the testimonials section settings.
Add a Heading, Link text and Link.

These all appear at the top of the section, where the link and link text appear on the right side of the page.

If you want to link to a external page, like an Instagram profile page, you need to type (or copy and paste) the full URL starting with https://. For example: https://example.com/abc123.
Set the amount of Testimonials per row using the slider.
Use the Add testimonial button to add a new testimonial.

Use the Back to settings (<) button to go back to all of the home page settings again. Use the drag handles to rearrange the order of your home page sections:
Use the Save button in the top-right corner when you are finished editing.

The following settings are available for testimonial sections:

Heading: Change the heading displayed above the testimonial section.
We recommend keeping this to just a few words long.
Link text: Change the text for a link above the testimonial section.
Link: Change the link for the link text above the testimonial section. If you’re adding an external link, you need to type (or copy and paste) the full URL, starting with https://. For example: https://example.com/abc123.
Testimonials per row: Use the slider to choose how many testimonials should be displayed per row of testimonials. You can choose between 2 and 4 per row.

To add a new testimonial to your testimonials section:

Make sure you are already editing the testimonials section that you want to change.
Under Content, use the Add testimonial button to add a new testimonial.
Choose or upload an Image for the quote. This will most likely be a profile picture of the person being quoted.

Note that if all your testimonial quotes in a section have images, they will be displayed as a left-to-right scrollable carousel on mobile devices. For more information, see the Testimonial carousels on mobile article.
Add Testimonial text.
Add an Author.
Repeat this process until you’ve added all the testimonials you need.

You can change the order of the blocks by using the drag handles:

You can always use the Remove content button underneath these settings to remove a testimonial from the list.
Use the Save button in the top-right corner when you are finished editing.

Each testimonial has the following settings:

Image: Select or upload an image, used as the profile picture for the person being quoted in the testimonial.
Testimonial: Add the quote text for the testimonial. This is a rich text box, so you can make parts of the text bold or italic. You can also add links to it.
Author: Add the name of the person being quoted.

You can use the Remove content button inside any block to remove it

On mobile devices, testimonials sections can be displayed as carousels that scroll from left to right.

To make your testimonials sections display as a carousel, just make sure that each testimonial has an Image added to it.

If some testimonial blocks don’t have an image, then each testimonial is displayed vertically, from top to bottom.

To ensure that your testimonials section will carousel:

Make sure you are already editing the Testimonials section that you want to change.
Click on each existing Testimonial block in the settings to open it.
Check each Testimonial block to make sure the Image field is not empty.

The Image fields are optional, so it’s possible they will be empty.
Use the Save button in the top-right corner when you are finished editing.
