Product page block

Custom text uses line item properties to collect and display additional information in the cart and order details. Custom text does not support add-on pricing.

In the Product template, you can add a Custom text field to let customers personalize their products. For example, customers can enter text for engraving or monograms.

For example, customers can enter personal text for engraving, or add specific requests and instructions to their order. The custom text will appear in the cart and order details.

Set up block

Add a custom text field block with a title, instructions, and placeholder text.

Editing a template changes all pages that use that template. To edit specific pages, you can create new templates or insert dynamic content with metafields.

STEPS

In your theme editor (Customize):

1. Under Product overview, click (+) Add block and select Custom text field.

2. Click on the new Custom text field block to open the settings.

3. Enter a Title to display above the field.

   To show different titles on different product pages, you can create multiple templates or insert dynamic content with metafields.

   Uncheck the Show label box to hide the title.

4. Enter Instructions to tell customers about the options and any requirements (e.g., a maximum of 10 words).

5. Change the Field placeholder text that appears until the customer enters their own text.

   The default placeholder is "Enter your text here." You may want to change the wording to be more specific.

6. (Return to Product Overview.) Click and hold the drag handles ⋮⋮ to rearrange the blocks:

   

   Click Remove block in the block settings to delete a block.

   Click the Eye icon to hide or unhide a block.

7. Click Save.
