The Contact page template provides a simple and effective way for customers to get in touch with you. The template includes preset sections for frequently asked questions and a contact form.

This guide explains how to set up the contact page template using theme sections, and includes demo examples and recommendations to get you started.

Quick setup

For your contact page, you first need to create a page and assign the about template in your Shopify admin. Then, in the theme editor, you can customize the contact page template using the preset theme sections.

Shopify | The contact form is a Shopify feature. You can test Shopify's free theme Dawn to see if an issue is platform-related. For assistance, you can contact Shopify support.

Create page and assign template

In your Shopify admin, you need to create a page and assign the contact template.

Shopify | Pages are a Shopify feature: see Shopify's guide for creating pages.

STEPS

In your Shopify admin:

  1. Click Online store > Pages.

  2. Click Add page.

  3. Add a Title (e.g. "Contact us").

The title will be used for the page URL (e.g. www.store.com/contact-us).

You don't need to add anything to the Content field. You will add the page content by editing the template in the theme editor.

  4. (Optional). Under Visibility, you can click Hidden if you don't want to publish the page to your live site yet.

  5. Click the Theme template menu and select contact to assign the template to your page.

Note: Templates can't be assigned on unpublished themes. Your changes to templates will be saved and can be assigned when you buy and publish the theme.

  6. Click Save.

Edit contact page template

The default Contact template includes preset sections designed to provide answers to common questions and let customers get in touch.

You can also use theme sections to provide direct contact information, such as an email address or phone number, your business hours, location, and social media links.

STEPS

In your theme editor (Customize):

  1. Use the Templates selector to open Pages > contact.

  2. Click Change in the "PREVIEW" section to select the page you want to use for your contact page.

A warning symbol (!) next to the page name means that the template is not assigned. Click the page name to go to your Shopify admin, and assign a template.

  3. Click the arrow next to Contact page section to reveal the blocks.

  4. Click the Contact info ("Let's talk") block to open the settings.

  5. Choose whether to Show social icons.

To show social icons, you must first add the URLS of your social media accounts. Click on the Contact page section and paste the full URL of your accounts in the fields.

  6. Change the Heading and Subheading text that displays next to the contact form.

  7. Return to the editor panel and click directly on the Contact form block to choose whether to Show page content.

  8. Click Save.
