Testimonials
Theme section
The Testimonials section displays rotating quotes from customers for your products with feature images and links.
Set up section
Add this section to any template (except Checkout) and use the drag-and-drop handles to re-order its position. You can add this section multiple times with different content and settings.
Editing a template changes all pages that use that template. To edit specific pages, you can you can create new templates or insert dynamic content with metafields.
Settings reference
Block settings
Click a Testimonial block to find the following settings.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
Show author image | Choose to display a small profile image of the testimonial author. |
Author image | Add an image to be used as the reviewer's profile picture. |
Author | Add the name of the person being quoted. |
Testimonial | Add the reviewer's quote for the testimonial. |
Product rating
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
Show rating | Choose to show a star rating given by the testimonial author. |
Rating | Add a star rating to the testimonial, between 0 and 5 stars. |
Featured product
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
Product | Set the maximum width of heading text as a percentage of the window width on a desktop. |
Custom image | Add text to show a small heading above the main heading. |
Section settings
Click the Testimonials section to find the following settings.

Center header on content | Choose to display headings as center-aligned within section. Uncheck this option to align headings to the left. |
Accent | Add text to show a small heading above the main section heading. |
Heading | Add text to show a main heading above the section. |
Subheading | Add text to show a subheading below the main heading. |
Maximum text width | Set the maximum width of heading text between 400 and 1000 pixels. |
Button link | Select or paste a URL for a button. |
Button label | Enter call-to-action text to display as the button label. The most effective button labels ask customers to do something (e.g. Get started, Join us, Shop now). To learn more, https://www.thebalancesmb.com/call-to-action-1794380. |
Button style | Change the style of the button. Select Primary button (Solid), Secondary button (Solid), Tertiary button (Outline), or Text. |
Testimonial grid
| Setting | Description |

Number of columns on desktop | Choose how many items to display in each row: between 2 and 4 columns. |
Testimonial options
| Setting | Description |

Truncate text | Choose to show a border around the testimonials. |
Show verified review badges | Choose to display a “Verified review” label and icon below the author’s name. |
Product thumbnail size | Increase or decrease the size of the selected product: between 40px and 80px. |
Text alignment | Align the content of the testimonials to the Left, Center, or Right. |
Text box
| Setting | Description |

Show text boxes | Choose to show a border around the testimonials. |
Text box style | Select the style of the text box, if enabled. Choose from multiple options to display a Soft drop shadow, Solid drop shadow, or Borders with different thicknesses. |
Color scheme | Change the color scheme applied to the text box. Select the Default color scheme from your theme settings or select a variant scheme based on the default colors: either Inverse, Soft, Accent, or Sale. You may also select one of the two custom color schemas. Learn more about Color schemes. |
Override with custom colors | Check this option to apply custom colors to the text box. These colors will override the color scheme. |
Text color | Select a custom color for all text in the text box. This setting applies only if the Override with custom colors option is enabled. |
Background color | Select a custom color for background of text box. This setting applies only if the Override with custom colors option is enabled. |
Section colors

Star rating color | Select a color of the rating stars to use the Product rating star, Accent, or Current text color from your settings. |
Color scheme | Change the color scheme applied to the section text and background. Select the Default color scheme from your theme settings or select a variant scheme based on the default colors: either Inverse, Soft, Accent, or Sale. Override with custom colors | Check this option to apply custom colors to the section. These colors will override the color scheme. |
Text color | Select a custom color for all section text. This setting applies only if the Override with custom colors option is enabled. |
Background color | Select a custom color for the section background. This setting applies only if the Override with custom colors option is enabled. |
Section style
| Setting | Description |

Top spacing | Increase or decrease the amount of space above the section. |
Bottom spacing | Increase or decrease the amount of space below the section. |
Enable animation | Choose whether to display visual effects when scrolling, hovering, or interacting with the section. See the Animation guide to learn more. |
