Password page

Template

Before you launch your store, you can use Shopify's password page feature to restrict access to your store. When the password page is active, all store pages are hidden and will not appear in search engine results.

Tip | See our blog post about how to use your password page as a marketing tool with a default template you can add to your store to get started.

Quick setup

The template includes preset sections and layout to get you started. In the theme editor, you can customize content, settings, and overall page design with theme sections.

Open the Password template in your theme editor to customize the headings, password message, newsletter signup, and social icons and sharing blocks.

STEPS

In your theme editor (Customize):

  1. Use the Templates selector to open Other > Password.

  2. Click on the Password page section to open the settings.

Use the Logo max width slider to set the maximum width of the image between 50 - 250 px.

These buttons can be clicked by customers to generate social media-friendly links on their social media profiles.

Settings reference

The password page has the following settings:

SettingDescription

Branding

Add a Logo image and set the maximum pixel width.

Heading

Add heading text. We recommend keeping this short. Just a few words long.

Text

Add the main page body text. We recommend keeping this to a paragraph or two. You can use rich text features here. Make some of your text bold or italic. You can also add links.

Show share buttons

Chow sharing buttons that redirect customers to social media websites, prompting them to share your store.

The buttons include Pinterest, X (Twitter), and Facebook.
