Product template

Product templates control the content, layout, and style of your product pages. In the theme editor, you can customize the product media, product overview, and overall page design with Spark's theme settings and sections.

This guide provides an overview of product page templates and features, with links to tutorials for product page styles, blocks, and sections.

Quick setup

Product templates have a preset layout with a Product overview section that includes blocks for product details, variant selectors, buy buttons, and additional features like complementary products and an information popup.

Use the Templates selector in the theme editor to open a product template. You can modify the page style and layout, product overview blocks, and further customize the page with theme sections.

Page layout and style

Click on the Product overview section to find layout and style settings for the product page. You can change the layout style of your product media and enable additional features like, Sticky product details, Quick purchase bar, Social sharing buttons, Breadcrumbs, and Navigation buttons.

Feature	Description
Media gallery	Customize the layout of your product media.
Quick purchase bar	Keep the product overview form in view when visitors scroll down.
Breadcrumbs	Display links that show customers where they are on your site.
Navigation buttons	Display 'next' and 'previous' buttons to move through collections.
Gift card recipient form	Allow buyers to send gift cards to a recipient's email on a scheduled date, along with a personal message.

Product overview blocks

The Product overview section is made of default and custom blocks that you can edit and rearrange.

Default blocks (guides)	Description
Title	Display title, price, vendor, star rating, and badges.
Price	Display the price of your product, including the sale or compared price.
Description	Display product description as a paragraph or accordion.
Variant selectors	Display variants of product options. Includes options for Information popup, Variant swatches, and Variant chips.
Quantity selector	Let customers add more quantities of a product.
Buy buttons	Add-to-cart button with optional Dynamic checkout button. Includes Local pickup banner.
Share icons	Social links for sharing your product page.
Border	Add a horizontal line to visually separate product blocks.
SKU	Show the SKU number used to track your product inventory.
Vendor	Show the product vendor (or seller) as added in your Shopify Admin.

Feature blocks

In the Product overview, the feature product blocks offer added functionality for displaying product information and designing the layout.

Accordion	Add expandable tabs that reveal more text when clicked.
Complementary products	Show customers related products that they can add to the cart.
Custom Liquid	Add block with custom HTML or Liquid
Custom text field	Let customers add personalized text, notes, or options.
Information popup	Add popup product information (ex. Size guide).
Payment block	Display icons of payment methods and info.
Security block	Display message about information and transaction security.
Shipping block	Display shipping info and a shipping estimator button.
Stock level indicator	Display stock level bar with 'low inventory' alert.
Text block	Add a short block of text.

Product page sections

Product page sections are added outside the product overview (below or above). Use theme sections to add more functionality and further customize the layout of your product pages.

We recommend starting by hiding or removing the default sections you don't want to use.

Product section (guides)	Description
Product recommendations	Display recommend products.
Product reviews	Display customer reviews with Shopify's Review app. (Note: Shopify's review app has been delisted. This option is available for stores that have previously downloaded the app.)
Theme sections	Use 30+ theme sections to customize the page layout.

Alternate templates

Spark includes an alternate template that shows a "pre-order" add-to-cart button..
