Announcement bar

The Announcement bar appears at the top of every page above the header. You can display rotating announcements, featured links, social media icons, and allow visitors to select their preferred store language and country.

Add announcements

Add up to 3 rotating announcements to let customers know about current promotions, new product lines, or other store updates.

You can add an information popup to display additional details about your announcement.

STEPS

In your theme editor (Customize):

1. Click the arrow beside the Announcement bar to reveal the announcement blocks.

2. Click (+) Add announcement to add up to 3 announcements.

   Click Remove block in the block settings to delete an announcement.

3. Click on an Announcement block to open the settings.

4. Enter your Announcement text as a message to your customers.

   We recommend entering no more than 10 words.

5. (Optional.) Click the Announcement Link field to select a page from your online store or enter a URL to direct customers to another page.

6. (Optional.) Change the Background color and Text color of the announcement.

   We recommend using WebAIM's contrast checker when matching colors to make sure your text is clear and readable for everyone.

7. Click Save.

Add information popup

Add a link or button that opens a popup with additional content. You can display custom text or a page created in your Shopify admin. Click to Enable the Additional information popup.

STEPS

In your theme editor (Customize):

1. Click on an Announcement block to open the settings.

2. Under Additional information popup, click Enable.

3. Enter Link text for the link or button that will open the popup.

4. Select a Link style: either Text or Button.

5. Enter text for the Popup heading and Popup text.

6. (Optional.) Select a page to show its content instead.

   You will need to create a new page in your Shopify admin.

7. Click Save.

Set time between announcements

By default, multiple announcements will rotate every 5 seconds. You can choose to display each message between 3 to 15 seconds. Announcements with more words may need more time for customers to read them.

STEPS

In your theme editor (Customize):

1. Click the Announcement bar section to open the section settings.

2. Move the slider to set the time between announcements from 3 to 15 seconds.

   

   Announcements will pause when customers hover over the announcement bar.

3. Click Save.

Enable language selector

Cornerstone supports selling in multiple languages. After you have added and published languages ↗ to your store, enable the Language selector to let customers select their preferred language.

Cornerstone comes with translations for default theme text in 4 languages: French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

Enable country selector

Enable the Country selector to let customers to view your products with their preferred currency. The selector displays countries with their currencies supported in your Shopify Market settings.

Shopify | Selling in multiple currencies ↗ is a Shopify feature. Only stores using Shopify Payments can use this feature.

Show social media icons

Add your social media links in the Theme settings to automatically display those social icons at the top of the header. Enter the full URL, including https://.

Show menu links

Show a secondary menu with nested dropdown links in the announcement bar. It's a great way to link to additional information about your store or highlight new pages, collections, and products.

First, you'll need to create a menu in the Navigation settings of your Shopify admin. We recommend a maximum of five top-level links. You can drag-and-drop links to create up to 3 levels of nested menus.

STEPS

In your theme editor (Customize):

1. Click the Announcement bar section to open the settings.

2. Scroll down to Links and click Select menu. Choose the menu you want and click Select.

   Click Create menu if you haven't already set one up in Navigation settings.

3. Click Save.

Time between announcement	Choose to display each message between 3 to 15 seconds.

Show divider	Show a border at the bottom of the announcement bar.
Enable language selector	Allow customers to select their preferred store language.
Enable country selector	Allow customers to select their preferred country and currency.
Show country flags	Display the flag icons next to country names in the selector.
Show social icons	Display icon links for you social media accounts set up in your theme settings.
Links	Select a menu from your Shopify admin to display links within the announcement bar.

Announcement

Setting	Description
Announcement text	Choose to display each message between 3 to 15 seconds.
Mobile announcement text	Change the color of all text in the announcement bar.
Announcement link	Add or paste a URL to make the announcement text a clickable link to another page. If enabled, do not add links directly in the announcement text.

Information popup

Setting	Description
Enable	Choose to show a info popup link that display additional text.
Link text	Change the text of the popup link.
Link style	Display links as Text or a Button.
Popup heading	Add text to display a heading at the top of the popup.
Popup text	Add text to display below the heading in the popup.
Page for content	Select a page to display within the popup instead of the popup text. You will need to create a page in your Shopify admin.
