The Slideshow split displays two images on one slide in a rotating slideshow. You can also add autoplay videos and set mobile-specific images.
Set up section
Add this section to any template (except Checkout) and use the drag-and-drop handles to re-order its position. You can add this section multiple times with different content and settings.
Under Template, click (+) Add section and select Slideshow split.
Click and hold the drag-and-drop handles ⋮⋮ to re-order your sections.
Add image slides
Add up to 8 slides that will rotate below the Slideshow headings and button.
STEPS
In your theme editor (Customize):
Click (+) Add slide and/or click on the Slide block you wish to edit.
Clicking on the block opens the block settings.
Under Image, click Select image to upload and select your image file.
There are no required images dimensions. We recommend images that are portrait (2:3) orientation (taller than wide) with a minimum width of 2050px for optimal quality across all devices.
(Optional.) Under Mobile image, click Select image to upload and select an alternate slide image that will show only on mobile.
You may want a different image that works best with mobile screen dimensions.
Select the Image focal point to choose which section of the image to keep centered within the slide.
This setting ensures the key part of your image appears when cropping occurs.
(Optional.) Click and hold the drag handles ⋮⋮ to rearrange the blocks:
Click Remove block in the block settings to delete a block.
Click the Eye icon to hide or unhide a block.
Click Save.
Add video slides
You can add slides with short auto-playing videos that loop continuously. It's a great way to add some dynamism to your page.
Add autoplay video
Add a muted autoplay video to use for your slide. You need to upload a .mp4 video to your Shopify admin and copy the link into your theme editor settings.
The autoplay video does not play audio. To embed a single video from YouTube or Vimeo with audio, see Lorenza's Video section.
Click the Upload files button to add your .mp4 file from your computer.
Once your file has been processed, click the Link icon next to the file to copy the URL.
You may need to refresh the page for your file to appear.
In the theme editor (Customize):
Paste the link into the Video link field. Click on the the link that appears in the results above.
Change the Media fit to either have your image Cover the entire block or Contain the image in the block with its original shape.
(Optional.) Select an Overlay color to display overtop of the video and adjust the Overlay opacity using the slider.
The Overlay lets you control the brightness and tone of your videoe. Use this setting to balance it with the other images and to add contrast with the headings so they are readable.
Click Save.

Add and customize slide headings, buttons, and colors. The Slideshow headings and button overlays the slides that rotate beneath it.
STEPS
In your theme editor (Customize):
Click on the Slideshow split section to open the settings.
Choose whether to Enable animation to show visual effects when scrolling, hovering, or interacting with the section.
(Optional.) Add a Small heading to display above the Heading.
We recommended using the small heading as a label or category for what you're showcasing in the slide, such as "Products", "Collections", or "Blog posts", etc.
Add Subheading text to display below the heading.
We recommend two or three short sentences.
(Optional) Use the sliders to adjust the Heading size and Subheading size.
Use the Max width of text slider to control the maximum width of the headings.
Use this setting to create a clean visual shape for your text and avoid unwanted line breaks.
Add a Link and Button text to display a button underneath the subheading.
The entire slide will become a link if no Button text is added.

(Optional.) Select an Overlay color to display overtop of the image and adjust the Overlay opacity using the slider.
The Overlay lets you control the brightness and tone of images. Use this setting to balance it with other images and to increase contrast with headings so they're readable.
Set the opacity to 0% to turn off the overlay color; set it to 100% to create a solid color block with no image.
(Optional.) Click the Overlay gradient option to add a color overlay that fades across a range of hues.
You can choose the style, angle, position, and opacity of the gradient. See Shopify's color gradient guide ↗ to learn more.
Select a Text container color to display your slide content in a solid box container. By default, the color is set to transparent.
