# Shoppable feature

The **Shoppable feature** section lets customers discover multiple products in a single image with **Hotspot** links. For an alternate layout, see the Shoppable image section.

## Set up section

Add this section to any template (except Checkout) and use the drag-and-drop handles to re-order its position. You can add this section multiple times with different content and settings.

Editing a template changes all pages that use that template. In your theme editor (**Customize**):

1. Select a **Template** to edit from the dropdown menu in the top bar.

2. Under **Template**, click **(+) Add section** and select **Shoppable feature**.
3. Click and hold the drag-and-drop handles **`⋮⋮`** to re-order your sections.

### Add feature image

Upload a single image of two or more of your products together. Adjust the position, size, and shape of your image before adding the hotspots next.

In your theme editor (**Customize**):

1. Click on the **Shoppable feature** section to open the settings.

2. Under *Image*, use the **Select image** button to add a section image.

   > There are no required image dimensions but we recommend uploading an image with a minimum width of 2050px for optimal quality.
3. Change the **Image position** to display the image(s) on the **Left** or **Right** side of the section.
4. Set the **Image width** to either **1/2 width** or **2/3 width** of the section.
5. Select the **Image aspect ratio** to crop your image to **Square**, **Landscape**, or **Portrait**.

6. Select the **Image focal point** to choose which section of the image to keep centered and visible.

   > This setting ensures the key part of your image appears when cropping occurs.
7. (*Optional*.) Select an **Overlay color** to display overtop of the image and adjust the **Overlay opacity** using the slider.

   > The **Overlay** lets you control the brightness and tone of images. Use this setting to balance it with other images and to increase contrast with headings so they're readable.

   > Set the opacity to *0%* to turn off the overlay color; set it to *100%* to create a solid color block with no image.
8. (*Optional*.) Click the **Overlay gradient** option to add a color overlay that fades across a range of hues.

   > You can choose the style, angle, position, and opacity of the gradient. See Shopify's [color gradient guide](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/themes/theme-structure/color-scheme#gradients) to learn more.
9. Click **Save**.

### Add promotional text

Change the section headings to promote your featured products.

In your theme editor (**Customize**):

1. Click on the **Shoppable feature** section to open the section settings.
2. (*Optional.*) Add a **Small heading** to display above the Heading.

   > We recommended using the small heading as a label or category for what you're showcasing in the slide, such as "Products", "Collections", or "Blog posts", etc.
3. Change the **Heading** text.

   > We recommended a short title of just a few words.
4. Change the **Subheading** text.

   > We recommend two to three short sentences.
5. Change the **Text alignment** to make the heading and subheading text **Center**, **Left**, or **Right** aligned.

6. Use the **Max width of text** sliders to control the maximum width of the heading and subheading.

   > Use this setting to create a clean visual shape for your text and avoid unwanted line breaks.
7. Change the **Text color** to make sure the headings are readable against the other colors or your slide image.
8. (*Optional*.) Select a **Text container color** to display your text content in a solid box container. By default, the color is set to transparent.
9. Click **Save**.

### Add hotspots

Hotspots are are clickable icons that mark the different products in your shoppable image. Select what products to link to and position them over the products in your image.

In your theme editor (**Customize**):

1. Click **(+) Add Hostpot** and/or click on the Hotspot block to open its settings.
2. Click on a **Hotspot block** to open the settings.

   > Click **(+) Add Hotspot** to add new blocks.

   > Click **Remove block** or the eye icon to delete or hide a block.
3. Click **Select product** and select which product the hotspot should link to.

   > The hotspot displays a popup with the product name and price. Customers can click this popup to go to the product page.
4. Use the **Horizontal position** slider to move the **Hotspot** from left to right until it is aligned with the product in the image.
5. Use the **Vertical position** slide to move the **Hotspot** from bottom to top until it is aligned with the product in the image.
6. Click **Save**.

### Add buttons

Add a **Button** to link to your sale collections or products or any other page with a custom call-to-action text.

2. Add a **Button label** and **Button link** to display a button underneath the headings.

3. Click **Save**.

## Section style

The **Shoppable feature** has three different section styles: **Default**, **Contrast**, and **Full-height**. Click on the **Shoppable feature** section to find the **Section style** option.

The Contrast and Full-height styles use the contrast colors set in the Theme settings.

## Settings reference

Click on the section to find the following settings:

| Setting              | Description                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           |
| -------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Image                | Select or upload one image that will have hotspot links overlayed on top. We recommend uploading an image with a minimum width of 2500px for optimal quality.                                                                                                                                         |
| Media focal point    | <p>Select the Media focal point to control what part of the image or video to center within the block.<br>Use the focal point to make sure the key part of your image or video won't be cropped when it overflows the size of the block.</p>                                                          |
| Small heading        | Add mini heading text in all capitals above the heading. We recommended a one or two word label.                                                                                                                                                                                                      |
| Heading              | Add heading text to display as the block title                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        |
| Subheading           | Add subheading text to display below the heading. Use the formatting buttons to add text styles, links, or lists. | Max width of heading | Use the slider to control the maximum width and line breaks of the headings.                                                                                                                                                                                                                          |

Click on the **Hotspot blocks** to find the following settings:

| Setting             | Description                                                                                                          |
| ------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Product             | Select the product that the hotspot links to.                                                                        |
| Horizontal position | Use the slider to move the hot spot from left to right to align the hot spot with the product's horizontal position. |
| Vertical position   | Use the slider to move the hot spot from bottom to top to align the hot spot with the product's vertical position.   |
