Theme section

The Slideshow displays auto-rotating slides to showcase your product images. You can fine-tune how your images look, all slide headings and colors, and add a mobile-specific image for the best experience across all devices.

Set up section

Add this section to any template (except Checkout) and use the drag-and-drop handles to re-order its position. You can add this section multiple times with different content and settings.

Editing a template changes all pages that use that template. To edit specific pages, you can you can create new templates or insert dynamic content with metafields.

STEPS

In your theme editor (Customize):

1. Select a Template to edit from the dropdown menu in the top bar.

2. Under Template, click (+) Add section and select Slideshow.

3. Click and hold the drag-and-drop handles ⋮⋮ to re-order your sections.

Settings reference

Block settings

Click (+) Add block to add a slide block. Use the drag-and-drop handles ⋮⋮ to change the order of the slides. Click the Slide blocks to find the following settings.

Setting	Description
Image	There are no required images dimensions. We recommend images that are square (1:1) or landscape (3:2) (wider than tall) with a minimum width of 2500px for optimal quality across all devices.
Mobile image	Add alternate image to displayed only on mobile devices
Image focal point	Select the Media focal point to control what part of the image to center within the slide. Use the focal point to make sure the key part of your image or video won't be cropped when it overflows the size of the block.
Mobile image focal point	Select the Media focal point to control what part of the image to center within the slide.

Content

Setting	Description
Custom width	Set the maximum width of heading text between 400 and 1000 pixels.
Text position	Choose the placement of the headings within the slide. Select one of nine positions.
Mobile text position	Choose the placement of the headings within the slide. Select one of nine positions.
Accent	Add text to show a small heading above the main heading.
Accent divider	Choose to show a border beneath the Accent heading.
Accent divider color	Choose to use the Theme color (as selected in the theme settings) or the Current color (as selected in the section settings).
Heading	Add text to show a main heading.
Heading size	Change the font size of the heading from small (1) to large (8).
Text	Add text to show a subheading below the main heading.
Text size	Change the font size of the text from small (1) to large (8).
Button link	Select or paste a URL for a button. This link applies to the entire grid item if the button label field is blank.
Button label	Enter call-to-action text to display as the button label. The most effective button labels ask customers to do something (e.g. Get started, Join us, Shop now).
Button style	Change the style of the button. Select Primary button (Solid), Secondary button (Solid), Tertiary button (Outline), or Text.

Image overlay

Setting	Description
Tint opacity	Use the slider to adjust the transparency of the overlay color. Set the opacity to 0% to turn off the overlay color. If set to 100%, the overlay will be opaque.
Tint style	Choose to use a Solid overlay color or Gradient overlay for the tint. The gradient style fades across a range of hues. You can select the angle and direction of the gradient from one of four options.
Override with custom colors	Check this option to use custom overlay colors for the tint. These colors will override the overlay colors selected in your theme settings.
Text color	Select a custom color for the heading and text of the “View all” tile. This setting applies only if the Override with custom colors option is enabled.
Tint color	Select a custom overlay text color for the tint. This setting applies only if the Override with custom colors option is enabled.

Text box

Setting	Description
Show text box	Choose to show a border around slide content.
Text box style	Select the style of the text box, if enabled. Choose from multiple options to display a Soft drop shadow, Solid drop shadow, or Borders with different thicknesses.
Color scheme	Change the color scheme applied to the text block. Select the Default color scheme from your theme settings or select a variant scheme based on the default colors: either Inverse, Soft, Accent, or Sale. You may also select one of the two custom color schemas. Learn more about Color schemes.
Override with custom colors	Check this option to apply custom colors to the text box. These colors will override the color scheme.
Text color	Select a custom color for all text in the text box. This setting applies only if the Override with custom colors option is enabled.
Background color	Select a custom color for background of text box. This setting applies only if the Override with custom colors option is enabled.

Section settings

Click the Slideshow section to find the following settings.

Setting	Description
Enable full width	Choose to span the slides across the whole window or screen, removing the margins on either side.
Banner height	Set the slide height to either Adapt to image (use your image’s height) or select a Custom height.
Custom desktop height	Choose a Fixed height (in pixels) or Relative height (as a percentage of the window height). This setting applies when the Slide height is set to Custom.
Custom mobile height	Choose a Fixed height (in pixels) or Relative height (as a percentage of the window height). This setting applies when the Slide height is set to Custom.
Enable autoplay	Choose to autorotate multiple slide images or let visitors click through slides manually. Turning off autoplay can make your online store accessible to more customers, including people with disabilities. Time between slides	Select the number of seconds each slide is shown before rotating.

Slide navigation

Change the alignment and colors of the navigation buttons used for moving forward or backward through slides.

Setting	Description
Navigation alignment	Choose to align the navigation buttons either to the Left, Center, or Right within the slides.
Show drop shadows	Display colored shadows around the navigation elements.
Foreground	Change the color of the autoplay bar and play/pause button.
Background	Change the color of the box behind the navigation buttons.
Background opacity	Use the slider to adjust the transparency of the background. Set the opacity to 0% to hide the background. If set to 100%, the background will be opaque.
Background effect	Choose to use a color Fill or a Radial gradient for the background.

Section style

Setting	Description
Top spacing	Increase or decrease the amount of space above the section.
Bottom spacing	Increase or decrease the amount of space below the section.
Enable animation	Choose whether to display visual effects when scrolling, hovering, or interacting with the section. See the Animation guide to learn more.
